Platform31, VNG and VNO NCW, among others, organize the 30th of October the Day of the City in Utrecht georganiseerd . In this day, we organize a workshop about experiments in the public space. Join us in this workshop! We will show, with examples of our practice, how experiments are great means for participation, inspiration and gaining trust. We will also hope to exchange experiences so if you have questions or want to bring along your own project for discussion, you are more than welcome to join us!

Just do it: Experiment with the public space and surprise yourself
A mother told us that her children did not play with the Ipad anymore since the grass was placed in front of her door. The grass was temporarily placed there as part of an experiment in which residents could experience the possibilities of a street temporally closed for cars. Is such experiment difficult or you just have to do it? The result of the experiment was in any case different than we thought. Though the workshop, we will show you, using examples of our own projects, the motives of a number of parties to experiment with the public space. We will show you that it is also possible for your municipality, neighborhood, company or consultancy agency to work on temporary interventions for a permanent change.
