URBANOS joined the ELAN event in Peru. ELAN (Europan Latin America Network) is a European Union (EU) initiative that seeks to increase and diversify the EU economic presence in Latin America, by meeting the Latin American demand for knowledge and innovative technology. ELAN also aims to boost the opportunities that both markets offer for European and Latin American small and medium enterprises. The ELAN event in Peru had a specific focus on sustainable cities and that’s why we were invited to participate.
During the ELAN event our aim was to connect with local stakeholders, understand Lima and Peru a little better and promote our services:
- Strategic urban planning and tactical urbanism: long term visions with short term actions; what can be done tomorrow to make a more sustainable city in the long term.
- working together with stakeholders, disciplines and create space for bottom-up initiatives.
- how to make cities more human by promoting cycling and walking.
