Project Description
The location of the house is a hilly area situated near the lake of Sisga (Colombia). Due to the high altitude (2700 meters) of the location it is chilly during the night and warm during day time. We were asked t0 design a house that handles these weather conditions and to use local materials. Our design plays with the surroundings and environment. The south side is opened and let’s the sun shine in and has a beautiful view on the lake, while the north side is almost closed with a thick stone wall that stands the chilly wind. The materials that are used are found near the location and the construction is made out of wood. To keep the warmth inside a thick green sedum roof is built.
